What kind of glamping accommodation can you stay in at the Eden Project?

Believe it or not, YHA’s glamping site at the Eden Project was previously a quarry. This area has been completely redesigned to offer a fantastic camping and glamping location complete with bell tents, Landpods, and airstreams, providing a memorable night’s sleep in the heart of the Cornish countryside.

As well as glamping, you are also free to pitch your own tent in YHA’s wild camping field.

Sleep under canvas in the bell tents

YHA Eden Project Bell Tent

Bell tents provide all the fun of camping without the stress of putting up your tent – not to mention taking it down and packing it away again!

Six of YHA’s bell tents are positioned right at the top of the glamping field and are raised up on wooden platforms so you can enjoy stunning views over the rolling fields of North Cornwall right from your tent.

Each bell tent sleeps up to five people, so they’re perfect for family holidays or groups of friends travelling together. Inside, in addition to the beds, there’s eco-friendly solar lighting, comfortable bean bags, and a wooden storage trunk to pop your valuables in. All the bedding is provided, so you can leave your sleeping bags and pillows at home.

There’s an integrated wood burner to keep you cosy when the temperature drops. You can also boil the kettle on here for your morning cuppa. Outside, there’s also a fire pit, so you can gather around here in the evenings and share stories. A bag of firewood is provided – you just need to bring the marshmallows!

Enjoy a quirky Landpod stay

YHA Eden Project Landpod

Half camping pod, half-tent, Landpods are a great choice if you fancy a really unique stay – there’s nothing else quite like them! Landpods sleep up to four people in two double beds so they’re great for couples or small families.

As with the bell tents, you won’t need to pack your car full of bedding, as all of this is provided. There’s also solar powered LED lighting, 2 USBS ports and a comfy seating area where you can chill out after a day of fun.

Outside, there’s a fire pit and a bench, so if you’re not ready for bed just yet, you can gather around here and chat about your holiday plans. We provide a pack of firewood to get you started, and more is available from reception should you need it.

The icing on the cake is an insulated and weatherproof canopy roof which you can open and raise up. Keep cool during the summer heat or open in the evening to stargaze from your bed.

Glamp in an airstream

YHA Airstream

For a stay with a difference, try spending the night in one of our American-inspired Airstreams. Airstreams comfortably sleep two people in a double bed or three with an additional single bed, so they’re perfect for romantic weekends away or for small families.

Inside, you’ll find all of the bedding you need, plus USB charging points to keep your devices topped up, storage, lighting, and space to relax. These Airstreams also have heating, so you can enjoy the glamping season for longer.

There’s a fire pit and table and chairs outside, meaning you can dine al fresco and spend time outdoors when the weather is fine.

Wild camping at Eden Project

YHA camping

If you prefer your stay a little more back to nature, then you can have a great adventure with wild camping. Inside the Eden Project’s magical grounds, you’ll find YHA’s wild campsite with space for approximately 30 people to bring their own tents.

Toilet, shower, and washing-up facilities are at the bottom of the campsite, and campers also have access to all the glamping facilities.

Glamping facilities at the Eden Project

As well as easy access to the Eden Project site and its various outdoor gardens, playgrounds, and cafes, glamping guests at YHA Eden Project also have access to some fantastic on-site facilities.

The beauty of glamping with YHA is that glamping guests also have access to the hostel’s facilities. While there isn’t a hostel here, guests can still get the same benefits, as there is a kitchenette on the site with basic food preparation and washing-up facilities.

There isn’t an oven here, but there’s a microwave and hob, so there are plenty of options for self-catering, which is excellent if you want to look after the pennies while you’re away. You can also have a BBQ outside.

If you’d prefer to have a break from the kitchen, you’re spoilt for choice. Not only is there an abundance of cafes on the doorstep at the Eden Project, but there’s also a café at the glamping site itself. An unlimited continental breakfast is on offer each day with all the fresh fruit and pastries you can eat.

There’s also a selection of delicious meals available in the afternoon and evenings with options for everyone, including vegetarian and vegan choices. And if you fancy an alcoholic drink to unwind with, you can grab one at the licensed bar.

The glamp site is easily accessed. There is free parking on-site, and it’s near a bus stop if you’d prefer to travel more sustainably. If you have an electric vehicle, you’ll find chargers nearby on-site at the Eden Project.

There is free wi-fi on-site, so you can stay connected while you’re away. Post pictures from your break on your social media channels or work remotely during your stay.

There’s a toilet and shower block close to the glamping site, so you won’t have too far to go if you get caught short in the middle of the night—just remember to bring your torch!

Things to do at the Eden Project

The Eden Project is a fantastic, family-friendly attraction which cannot be missed if you’re thinking of heading to Cornwall. With YHA glamping accommodation on-site, you really don’t need to go far to have an epic adventure.

Rainforest Biome

What makes the Eden Project so recognisable is its famous Rainforest Biome. This huge glass dome is home to an indoor rainforest where plant life from around the world, including Southeast Asia, West Africa, and South America, can be found.

Inside, you’ll learn more about how essential rainforests are to the world and its many inhabitants. You can also walk along the accessible canopy walkway to enjoy stunning views of the trees and plants below.

The Eden Sessions

The Eden Project holds a series of live music concerts each year known as the Eden Sessions. DJs such as Fatboy Slim, singer-songwriters like Paolo Nutini, and guitar-driven bands like the Manic Street Preachers have all graced the stage here.

The site’s incredible natural acoustics and atmospheric location combine to provide an unforgettable event with outdoor festival vibes.

After enjoying world-class music from some of the biggest artists on the planet, head back to your glamping accommodation to enjoy a great night’s sleep. No queuing to leave the car park, no long drive home – YHA Eden Project provides a convenient place to stay just a short walk from the concert arena.

Nature’s Playground

There’s nothing children love more than a playground, and they won’t be disappointed by the Eden Project. Nature’s Playground is a natural adventure play area with sensory play at its heart.

It’s one of Cornwall’s largest outdoor play areas with a wood wide web, a willow coppice soakaway, a water course, a china clay pit, slides and ladders, swings, and a Tree of Life tower. Your only problem might be getting the kids to leave!

Adrenaline-fuelled activities

If you need something to get the blood pumping after a relaxing day learning more about nature, head to Hangloose. It offers a range of adrenaline-fuelled experiences, including a zip wire, aerial assault course, base jump, climbing experience, and giant swing.

Fly through the air like Superman on England’s fastest zip wire, at speeds of up to 60 miles per hour. There are two parallel lines, so you can experience it with a friend or just take a solo flight. Enjoy the views below of the famous Biomes – if you dare to open your eyes, of course!

If you prefer to keep your feet closer to the ground (well, sort of!), then try your hand at the SkyTrek, an aerial trekking course on high ropes. Challenge yourself to the balance beam and run over swinging logs and wobbly bridges before finishing with a zip wire finale.

Fancy dropping 15 metres over the Cornish cliffs? Try the Zero Gravity swing for an exhilarating ride. The swing seats up to three people so you just need to find two others who are as brave as you or ride by yourself.

If that’s not enough heights for you, then the Big Air base jump could be just the ticket. You’ll jump from a height of 12 metres with nothing but a giant air bag below. There’s nothing like the thrill of free falling!

For youngsters, there are 12 climbing walls where they can test their mettle. Climbing is suitable for children from four to 14 years old, so it’s great for burning off some excess energy.
