With 296 miles of fantastic coastline to explore, over huge cliffs which plummet into the sea, pathways that twist and turn through gorgeous greenery and views which reach out to an endless horizon, Cornwall is a walker’s paradise. It’s time to put those walking boots to good use and discover the many wonderful Cornwall walking routes this part of England has to offer. Happy rambling…
The Lizard Peninsula
The Lizard Peninsula; England’s most Southerly Point. Start at Kynance Cove, where magnificent rock formations and the beautiful sandy beaches combine and follow the steps up the cliffs. From here, make your way along the coast of England, skip across idyllic fields which drop to the rocks below and breathe in the crisp air. This area is famous for its wildlife including the seals and basking sharks that can often be seen. The views from this stretch of Cornwall are splendid; the coastline starts to soften from this point east, so make the most of the striking cliffs. One of our favourite Cornwall walking routes.

Sennen Cove to Lands’ End
A reasonable 3-mile walk from Sennen Cove to Land’s End with spectacular views. A very popular walking route in Cornwall, mainly due to the flexibility of the length and difficulty of the route. A little further than Land’s End is Nanjizal beach which is dog friendly and there are many cafés and restaurants where you can grab a bite to eat. It’s well worth the extra distance for the gorgeous sea views, hidden caves and idyllic surroundings.
Here’s a YHA top tip; Make sure you visit the most spectacular features of all – The Armed Knight, the marvellous rock arch at Enys Dodnan and the thundering seas at Pordenack Point!

Eden Project circular walk
The Eden Project circular walk is a great one. Around 2.2 miles and relatively easy, this walk follows a bridleway towards Trethurgy across what were once china clay tips. This walking route continues across the edge of Carvear Moor through a line of trees planted along the side of the Eden Project site to reach the main entrance. The return route passes around the side of the pit in which the Eden Project is located.
