For the month of April, YHA teamed up with Scrap Car Comparison, the country’s first and only comparison website for scrap vehicle prices.

The partnership with Chichester-based Scrap Car Comparison has helped us raise valuable funds for April with the nationwide comparison website. Scrap Car Comparison’s website has been offering free, instant scrap and salvage quotes in the UK since 2013.

Having a nationwide network of scrap car breakers, collectors and dedicated buyers, they work with authorised treatment facilities and approved buyers across the UK – and all collections are free with no charges. Their sales advisors take hundreds of calls each day and for the month of April they have donated a percentage of their income to YHA.

Because we’re a charity, we invest all the money we make into creating opportunities for people from all backgrounds to experience amazing places, share extraordinary journeys and discover a different path through life. And thanks to our customers, members, donors and volunteers, we’re able to intensively support opportunities for young people facing poverty, disability, long-term illness and other challenging circumstances that mean they would otherwise miss out.

During April Scrap Car Comparison raised an amazing £1933 for YHA. Lauren James, YHA’s Relationships Manager, said: “The donation will have such an incredible impact on children’s lives. Just £80 will fund a two day break for a child from Chichester like Freddie. 9 year-old Freddie has a rare progressive eye disease. Last year his family were told that he would lose his remaining sight. Freddie and his family have since embarked on a vision bucket list; one of his biggest wishes is to see the coast made famous by his favourite author Enid Blyton. We are helping Freddie on his bucket list by enabling him to have a holiday to the coast.”

Russell Howarth, Sales Manager for Scrap Car Comparison, said he is delighted with the amount raised: “Incredible. We are extremely pleased to be able to help such a wonderful charity with the funds raised from April.”
