Our one-day online only feel good ‘Black Friday Sail’ for Black Friday shoppers will launch on 29th November 2019.

For the first time in recent years, we will not be offering any discounts on stays within the network this Black Friday. Instead, we wants to put money into the our coffers and introduce new people to our network with this unique Black Sail event.

Everyone who makes an online booking on 29th November to stay at one of our 150 plus properties in England and Wales on a future date, will be entered into a competition to win a New Year’s Eve stay for them and 15 of their family and friends at the iconic Black Sail youth hostel in Cumbria. The winner will have the entire property to themselves as an exclusive hire for up to three nights.

Nestled in the wilds of the Ennerdale Valley with sheep being the nearest neighbour for three miles, YHA Black Sail lends itself to the ultimate New Year’s Eve celebration.  The hostel is considered a jewel in YHA’s crown. The hostel has hosted famous mountaineers, including Sir Chris Bonington and Alan Hinkes OBE as well as been the backdrop to hit TV programmes such as George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces and Countryfile. YHA Black Sail is also featured in the Cool Places guide.

Rather than going head to head with the thousands of deals this Black Friday, we wants to take the opportunity to raise money for YHA, introduce even more people to youth hostels and remind people that YHA is a charity.

Everyone who stays with us helps the charity reach and improve the lives of vulnerable young people and their families and if they make a booking on 29 November, then they too could win a free stay. It’s the ultimate Black Friday deal.

The winner will be selected at random from all bookings made online before midnight on 29 November. For competition terms and conditions, visit our special offers page.
