You don’t need to wait until Halloween to enjoy tasty autumn treats! If you’ve got a grown-up to help you, baked apples are easy to make. You can even use the hostel kitchen. Here’s how to cook baked apples.

You’ll need the following things:

Pinch of brown cane sugar spilled on white

Sugar (muscovado is best)

Nuts: Raisins Isolated on White Background

Raisins

Apple on a white background

Eating apples

Cinnamon powder heap isolated on white background

Ground cinnamon

Ingredients: Butter Curl

You’ll also need an adult (not to eat)!

Instructions:

1. With your grown-up helping you, turn on the oven to 200C/180C fan then use a knife to cut a ‘lid’ from the top of each apple.
2. Using a corer, press down into the centre of each apple, making a long hole. If you don’t have a corer, ask your grown-up to cut the cores out using a knife.
3. Mix together the cinnamon, raisins and sugar in a bowl, then use your fingers to push some of the mixture into each apple. (Licking your fingers afterwards is definitely allowed.)
4. Put a blob of butter on each one, then pop  them in the oven for 20 minutes, or until  they’re cooked through. Leave to cool a little then eat with a small spoon. Enjoy!
