YHAÂ (England and Wales), have been supporting development through Apprenticeships for a few years now.
We are encouraging our employee’s whether they work in our network of hostels, in a field based role or work from our National Office in Derbyshire, to choose an apprenticeship that supports them in their current role or helps them to develop skills and potential for future opportunities.
As a levy paying charity, we see the importance of developing our people and creating succession plans to support our future.
The pandemic has not stopped our development plans with many of our partner Apprenticeship providers delivering robust, remote programmes to our people, including one member of the team who successfully achieved a Distinction on End Point Assessment in December 2020 just 14 months after starting their apprenticeship!
As we plot our route out of the pandemic YHA has big plans for Apprenticeships and the government Kick Start scheme. Additional funding will provide the resources to continue to recruit apprentices to support a key partnering project called Generation Green alongside encouraging applications for an outdoor education apprenticeship due to start in September 2021 with the support of Sport England.
As we work to open our hostels, we will continue to recruit to deliver against our commitment to the government Kick Start scheme with a view to creating further apprenticeship opportunities over the coming years.
Keep an eye out for future apprenticeship opportunities with YHA.
