London Marathon 2017 – The Hub’s story

We’re The Hub, a marketing communications agency where good things happen for businesses, brands and people. We also do what we say, and have decided to form a small group of employees and friends to run the London Marathon on the 23rd of April.

This challenge is not just for personal pride, it’s also to raise money for a great cause – YHA Breaks For Kids.

Breaks For Kids supports children to take part in a short YHA Hostel breaks giving them life-enhancing experiences through adventurous educational stays.

The Hub has been working with YHA for the last five years, and has completed a number of challenges for Breaks For Kids, but there is always a need for extra fundraising.

Each member of the team had a specific reason for wanting to complete the London Marathon. Sam, a first time runner of a marathon wanted a challenge to motivate her to run more and to also complete a lifelong goal. Rebecca, a seasoned marathon runner wants to beat her personal best time while also raising money for a charity close to her heart. Charlotte wanted to finish her first ever marathon with her father Robin, a keen runner before deciding to run the 26.2 miles she decided she needed a new challenge.

‘This is a great opportunity to push ourselves to do something many of us have never done before, while also raising money for a charity that we believe is doing some excellent and incredibly valuable work for the young people of the UK.’ Says Rebecca Brennan, The Hub’s Founder and Managing Director.

The team will take on the London Marathon on April 23rd 2017, you can donate to The Hub’s fundraising for YHA Breaks For Kids here:
