Have you ever wondered what London looks like from above? Well wonder no more because now you can see for yourself by the view from The Shard; the tallest building in the whole of Western Europe and is London’s newest and most striking landmark.

Designed by Master Architect Renzo Piano, The Shard has become a defining symbol of the city. It is 800ft (244m) high and offers breathtaking views over London for up to 40 miles. At almost twice as high as any other vantage point in the city, this really is the only way to see the whole of London.

During your trip to The Shard, you’ll ascend at high speed to the first viewing platform on Level 69 of the glass building. While you’re there you can try and spot some of London’s most famous landmarks and buildings including the London Eye, St Paul’s Cathedral, The Gherkin, and Tower Bridge.

State-of-the-art telescopes will help you to explore the spectacular view in more detail and they have information on 200 of London’s landmarks. This information is available in 10 different languages and in the day, night, sunrise, and sunset views. The Shard team are also on hand to answer any questions you might have.

Once you’ve had your fill, you can then ascend again to Level 72 which is an open-air viewing gallery. Look up to the top of the building where you’ll see the shards of glass that create The Shard’s unique shape and give the building its name. As you’re exposed to the elements you’ll be able to take in the atmosphere and sounds of the bustling city below.

As well as this, there are two shopping boutiques where you can pick up your souvenirs from your trip to London from the highest shop in the city! If you’re celebrating (or even if you’re not!) take a trip to the champagne bar for a glass of something sparkling.

The view from The Shard is the best view in town and is available with a YHA trip and there are discounts on your tickets when you get them through us.
